about the work:

My art is a wide blanket - spread over several commercial and personal realms. One thing that I make sure goes into every site design, illustration, or painting is communication. Through color, composition or font choices my main goal in everything that I do is to convey the message that the client, or the story, wants to say.

You will find that a good deal of the illustration works are fantasy and mythic in their subject matter. I love the myths of ancient cultures, from my own Anglo-Saxon and Irish heritage to the stories of the native Australian peoples. Along with old sources, I am interested in the modern myth-making by authors like Neil Gaiman and Charles de Lint. These modern bards (and others like them) are a wellspring of inspiration for me, and it shows.

about the worker:

I’m a little bit of everything - web designer, illustrator, dream interpreter, wanna-be gardener, wife, coffee-connoisseur, a sometimes story teller and an unapologetic geek. I love video games, movies, and three inch thick fantasy novels.

Growing up in rural Ohio without too many people around lead to this interest in the things mentioned above. Going to the Art Academy of Cincinnati for a degree in illustration was a natural choice for me.

I studied all of the traditional figure drawings and absorbed all the draftsman know-how I could. Also while I was there, I got introduced to this thing called Photoshop and started to pick up a tablet pen to paint rather than a brush.

So I graduated, and soon realized how much I enjoyed food on my table and a roof over my head. So I did the cardinal sin of an art school grad - sold out and got a job. The wonderful world of web has become my home. Flash animation, solid html and css standards have become another tool in my paint-box to use, and I have a lot of fun doing it.

Currently I am in Cincinnati, Ohio and enjoying life with my long suffering hubby, and our self appointed house goddess (otherwise known as our cat.)
